Being Indian

It had been a long time since I wrote something. There are a million of things going on in my mind right now. If I had some sort of device which could map the signals in my brain to the co-ordinates in the 2-D plane, it will sure tell you how complicated my thoughts are right now. All the things aside, I thought it will be good to write something in order to peace me down.

Someone said “Mostly it is loss which teaches us about the worth of things.” I wonder how meaningful the line is. We don’t value something unless we lose it. This is a common human psychology. When we are in a relationship we start devaluing it as time progresses. We start taking it for granted. It’s only when we lose the person we start thinking about how beautiful it was. The same line can be related to multiple other things neglected around us.

Recently I got a chance to talk to a person from Morocco. I received a Facebook friend request from her, so I got curious to know how did she find me. The answer was pretty interesting. She said she likes a show “Punarvivah”  on Zee TV. She searched for Yash Sinha India, and reached me. She told me that she adores India. It’s her dream to visit the country some day. She loves Indian dancing, dressing and the culture.

And then I came across these today.

I was pretty amused. Here is a girl, who being a foreigner has a dream to visit the country. And here are two Indian as***es (pardon my language), who being Indian, abuse it to the core.  No electricity- India sucksNo water- India sucks, Lost the cricket match- India sucks, Heavy traffic, overpopulation, pollution, people, crowd….. India sucks! India sucks! India sucks! I mean why don’t you do us a favour and budge out.

Well it’s us who have made the country like this. No, India doesn’t suck. It is made from us. And we need to respect it. Being an Indian doesn’t mean you can bluntly speak ill of your country. It means it’s your responsibility to look after it and shape it’s future. It’s our responsibility to stand up against what is wrong, to stop the shit of bribes. It’s easy to shout, it’s harder to do.

Let’s pledge to stop being complacent about the tiny things. Let’s stop giving that extra money to the autowallas, or bribing traffic police when there is no helmet or DLs. Let’s stop throwing bottles on the roadside or being negligent when a landowner tries to rob you off. Stop spitting every place where the mouth takes you. Stop throwing garbage. Pay taxes in time, pay your bills in time. Participate in voting. It’s not only about complaining. It’s also about doing things. There are so many things we can do to make India a better place.

We are Indians. India is our country. Let’s show what we can do when we stand together. It’s who we are. That’s called being Indian. 🙂

Do look at these videos 🙂

Peace 😀
